Achievements

Academy Bhopal

  1.  SSB Academy Bhopal has started functioning from 1st June 2017 as per the    FHQ New Delhi order of relocation of it from Srinagar (Garhwal) Uttarakhand.
  2.  Presently 21st AC(DE) Course is running at SSB Academy Bhopal
  3.  Before shifting to Bhopal SSB Academy was functioning at Srinagar (Garhwal)    Since 2004. 
  4.  Total 9 batches of AC/DE Courses have passed out from Academy Srinagar so      far in   which 725 Assistant Commandants have been trained.
  5.  138 AC (MO/ Vety) have undergone their basic training during last 12 years.
  6.  388 Commandos have been trained from Academy during the last  12 years from  the establishment of this Academy.
  7.  09 batches of AC/LDCE Courses have passed out from Academy Srinagar in      which 104 Assistant Commandants have been trained.
  8. 73 Dy. S.Ps. of Uttarakhand Police have undergone Counter Insurgency training   at Academy Srinagar.
  9. Battalion Commander Course for Nepal Armed Police Force Officers has been   conducted for 16 Dy. S.P. of APF, Nepal.
  10. 52 DIsG, 182 Commandants/AOs, 163 Second in Commands, 206 Deputy           Commandants, 142 ACs and 79 SAOs have undergone their promotional     courses at Academy Srinagar.
  11. 1110 constables have received their basic training in 09 batches conducted at         Academy.

CI&JW School, Gwaldam

  1. 39  Counter Insurgency & Jungle Warfare Courses have been conducted at CI&JW School Gwaldam under which 9529 personnel including 108 GOs, 434     SOs & 8987 ORs have been trained.
  2. 2 TOT Courses on Counter Insurgency and JungleWarfare have been conducted at CI&JW School ,SSB,Gwaldam under Which 75 personnel including 01 GOs 27 SOs&47 ORs have been trained.
  3. 146 Rock Climbing Courses have been conducted under which 2693 personnel  including 05 GOs,29 SOs & 2659 ORs have been trained.
  4. 1 Special Rock Climbing Courses for Mahila Component has been conducted under which 11 personnel including 01 SO & 10 ORs have been trained.
  5. 128 Medium Altitude Training Courses have been conducted under which2070  personnel including 01 GO, 10 SOs & 2059 ORs have been trained.
  6. 33 High Altitude Training Courses have been conducted under which 738 personnel including 01 GO,01 SO & 736 ORs have been trained. 
  7. 39 Snow Survival Course  have been conducted under which 664 personnel including 01 SO & 663 ORs have been trained.
  8. 51 Basic Disaster Response Courses have been conducted under which 955 personnel including 222 GOs , 212 SOs & 521 ORs have been trained.
  9. 15 officer General Courses level-II have been conducted under which 224 SOs have been trained 
  10. 5 Identification Handling and Explosive Courses (IHE) have been conducted under which 121 ORs have been trained .
  11. 15 Map Reading Courses have been conducted under which  370 personnel including 80 Sos & 290 ORs have been trained .
  12. 6 TOT Courses on Map Reading have been conducted under which 172 personnel including  101 SOs &71 ORs have been trained.
  13. 9 BRTC have been conducted under which 1695 Recruit Constables have been trained .

Mountaineering Wing, Gwaldam

         The CI & JW School has a specialized Mountaineering Wing which conducts different courses for all ranks to promote spirit of adventure and camaraderie. This Wing has a very rich history. It started as High Altitude Operation Training Centre in September, 1970 from Sandev, Didihat, Pithoragarh. It was shifted to its present location i.e. Gwaldam on 1st October, 1972. Sh. H.C.S. Rawat, Padam Shree/Arjun Awardee (1965) and one of the Summiteers of the 1st successful Indian Expedition to Mt. Everest in 1965 was the first senior Instructor of this wing.

         Recently the team of Mountaineering Wing, Gwaldam successfully conducted the Mt. Everest Expedition in 2013, in which five personnel,  under the leadership of Sh. Somit Joshi, Commandant,(Now Dy. Inspector General ) CI&JW School Gwaldam, reached the Summit on 21st May 2013.
